This policy explains what information the Flashlight: LED Torch & Strobe Android app handles, and why. We keep it short and plain, because there is not much to explain: it is a flashlight, and we do not want your personal information.
The app controls the LED flash next to your camera through Android's torch control. This does not open the camera and needs no camera permission. No photos, no video, no sound is ever captured. The strobe, SOS and brightness features all use the same on/off control.
The "screen light" mode turns your display white (or a colour you choose) and raises its brightness while that screen is open. Your normal brightness is restored when you leave. Nothing is recorded.
None that identifies you. There is no sign-up, no login and no user account. We run no servers that receive anything about you. Your settings (for example "turn on when the app opens") are stored only on your phone and deleted when you uninstall.
The app is free and is paid for by advertising. We use Google AdMob. To show ads, Google may collect and process:
This information is handled under Google's own policies: Google Privacy Policy and how Google uses data in AdMob.
We request only ads rated suitable for a general audience (Google's "G" rating).
The app downloads its own settings — for example whether ads are enabled — from Google Firebase, so we can fix problems without releasing an update. This is a one-way download of settings to your device. It does not send us your personal information.
The app does not request the camera, microphone, location, contacts or files. The flash is controlled without opening the camera.
The strobe mode produces rapidly flashing light, which can trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy. The app shows a warning before the first use of strobe mode. Please use it responsibly.
This is a general-audience tool. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Because we do not collect personal information, we have nothing about you to store or delete. Data held by Google's advertising service is retained according to Google's policies, linked above.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data held about you, or to object to its processing. As we hold no personal data ourselves, such requests are best directed to Google via the links above. You may also contact us and we will help where we can.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's store listing.
